College Guidance Network (CGN) surveyed over 618 parents and legal guardians of students
enrolled in grades 9-12 across the United States in January 2026, as a follow-up to a previous survey in May 2025. Parents that responded were from various regions, income and education levels, and types of K-12 schools (public, private, religious, and independent).

According to this survey, 44.1 % of parents believe the AI will create about as many new jobs as it eliminates. However, 83.3% of parents reported feeling concern about job destruction due to AI. When it comes to choosing a college, 46.6% of parents said that AI considerations would be a “secondary factor.”
